Nice Day

A very nice day, a little cooler but more like December weather.
In our family we have a tradition of having Tamales on Christmas Eve. We always had a Christmas Eve party and Tamales and chili along with home made tortillas was the main attraction. None of that canned stuff, but homemade from my Mexican neighbors. They are the best! Now, I can make tortillas and enchiladas but why? My daughters and I used to make our own, we had a regular assembly line going. In my neighbor hood there was a Tortilla factory, they were so good!! Ah, those days are long gone, just good memories.
It looks like it will be after the first of the year before I get my rig roadworthy again. Some have asked me where I am going after that? I don't have the slightest idea. My plans were to go to Arizona in time for SOLO'S GTG at Quartzsite,AZ and then maybe to California. Looking at the floods in southern California I don't know if my Parks will even be open. It is a possibility just going to the Texas Coast. It all depends on the weather and if I have any money after all these repairs!

  1. There is nothing like a tortilla right off the comal.

I used to make my own tamales, but with teen-aged sons they ate them faster than I could make them, and it's a lot of work.

  2. All of your Mexican food sounds very good. I never have tried making it, but we sure love to eat it. We use to go to a little Mexican place in Hondo, the first year we stayed in Texas. We hope to get back over there before leaving in the spring. Merry Christmas.
