Looking for tires!

I took the truck to town one day last week to a tire/repair shop to see if they could fix my mud flaps, and tail gate. While looking at the tire flaps, the man said, your tires are in really bad shape! What?? I bent down and looked, took a close look, and he was right. Dry rot. I haven't paid much attention to my truck while living in the apartment. Couldn't wash it or really get the doors open wide enough to clean it. My fault. My tires are Michelin and are six years old. Not many miles and they still have good tread, but I do see those little cracks on the sidewalls. So, now I am in the market for tires. I really wasn't wanting to do that right now. I had thought about finding a lease site, and then something smaller to travel in, just park the 5th wheel. But, now I don't know. New tires will run me about 1,500.00, but I would be good to go for a long time. I have been looking at lease sites here at Sun Country in Whitney, but I really wanted to make one more trip to AZ. I don't know if I am able to do that or not. Sure would like to try it. I may try moving next door to Thousand Trails Whitney for two weeks, and see if I can handle setting it up by my self. They have lease sites also and I like that park a little better than this one. My space here is just like being parked in the middle of a field, but the price is right,$375.00 including the electric. That is for 30 amps, 50 amps would be $400.00, still a good price.
I have been trying to go through old papers, and empty boxes. I ran across my journal from the 1991 trip my husband and I took to Alaska. I used to hand write a journal, and then put it on the computer and print copies. Some of the things I made note of at that time, I thought prices in Canada were outrageous. In Fairbanks, eggs $1.59,bacon, $1.99 lb,milk $1.17 quart, bread 2/100.We should be so lucky now days to find groceries that cheap. I had commented, I need to do laundry and the washers were $1.25 a load, so we just kept on going down the road.  I think it was in Fairbanks I first saw returnable 2 liter drink bottles.
So, I spent my Saturday reading and remembering. Wasn't a bad way to spend the day!
