Finally took a look at the mud flaps. The one on the passenger side sticks out just a little past the fender. That is the one Juan had to weld, and replace the wheel well liner. I am NOT going to take it back. I will just live with it. It's on, and I won't get a ticket. That was the main thing. Also the tail gate opens real easy, so one more step towards being able to move this rig.
I made it to the P.O. and Family Dollar, and the grocery store. While walking into the PO I noticed a big "spot"on the front of my clean shirt! I tried to wet a napkin and rub it out, no luck. So, I must have looked like a slob while shopping. I know it happened when I took my trash to the dumpster. That is one thing I do not like about this park. Even it you lease a spot, you still have to load and haul your trash to the dumpster. It is too far for me to walk it, so I load it on the extra fuel tank in back of my truck and drive it over, then off load it and toss in the dumpster!
Meanwhile, hot hot weather here in Texas. All week we are expecting to be in triple digits. Storms are up north of me, I hope they stay there! Wish I could find a place to live that doesn't have tornadoes, and triple digit heat! And, no ice either.

Nerve wracking Monday
I had talked to Juan at his body shop about fixing my mud flaps. He was very busy that day and told me to come back on Monday. Monday morning while I am in the bathroom, there is a knock on my door. Great, I wonder who that could be. A lady from the office tells me the water will be turned off because of a water main break. I ask how long will it be off? She said she had no idea. So I filled my pictures, and coffee pot so not to run out of drinking water, I always keep some water in the fresh water holding tank for flushing, and washing dishes etc. but I wouldn't drink it. This made me even later to get to Juan's body shop in downtown Whitney. Do you ever have this strange feeling, I shouldn't be doing this? Well I did. But, I need to get my mud flaps fixed, and my tail gate fixed. Can't move unless I can get my tail gate down. So I agreed to take Juan to my RV and he drove my truck back to the shop. He assured me it would be ready by six. I explained to him I wanted my truck back by then, I did not want to be stuck here in this park with no transportation. All day I could just imagine my truck sitting on the side of the road, wrecked. Oh well, I thought, if that happens, I will own a Paint and Body shop! I really don't want a body shop, I want my truck. At 6:30, I called Juan, he tells me he is running late and it will be another hour. OK, I thought, don't panic. At 8:00 pm I called again, this time I am in a panic. I told him, it is getting dark, I want my truck! He promises me it will only be one more hour, that a friend came to help him. This makes me even more nervous. A friend? Are they working or partying ? By 9:00 pm I am MAD. I call Juan again and tell him in a loud voice, bring my truck back. He said he only liked a little more, and I wouldn't have to take him back to his shop, his friend would follow him and drive him back.By 9:30 I think I had steam coming from my ears! About the time I am ready to phone the police he calls me, and drives up at the same time. Now, it is pitch dark, I can't see a damn thing, even with his flash light. I try to look at the mud flaps, they are on there, but they look like one is higher than the other, he says they are the same. My tail gate does work. So now I can move the 5th wheel, and get LP if I need to. He asks me for $100.00 dollars, I give it to him, and thank God it didn't cost me more! I had a hard time getting to sleep. I am still mad, and frustrated over this. I try not to get so upset, but the more I try the more upset I get. I have been told, you worry too much. Well, I guess I do, it's just my nature. I haven't even gotten dressed today, didn't go out and look at the truck! I will handle it tomorrow. One day at a time is all I can do. Next is getting tires! I hope that goes easier.

Looking for tires!
I took the truck to town one day last week to a tire/repair shop to see if they could fix my mud flaps, and tail gate. While looking at the tire flaps, the man said, your tires are in really bad shape! What?? I bent down and looked, took a close look, and he was right. Dry rot. I haven't paid much attention to my truck while living in the apartment. Couldn't wash it or really get the doors open wide enough to clean it. My fault. My tires are Michelin and are six years old. Not many miles and they still have good tread, but I do see those little cracks on the sidewalls. So, now I am in the market for tires. I really wasn't wanting to do that right now. I had thought about finding a lease site, and then something smaller to travel in, just park the 5th wheel. But, now I don't know. New tires will run me about 1,500.00, but I would be good to go for a long time. I have been looking at lease sites here at Sun Country in Whitney, but I really wanted to make one more trip to AZ. I don't know if I am able to do that or not. Sure would like to try it. I may try moving next door to Thousand Trails Whitney for two weeks, and see if I can handle setting it up by my self. They have lease sites also and I like that park a little better than this one. My space here is just like being parked in the middle of a field, but the price is right,$375.00 including the electric. That is for 30 amps, 50 amps would be $400.00, still a good price.
I have been trying to go through old papers, and empty boxes. I ran across my journal from the 1991 trip my husband and I took to Alaska. I used to hand write a journal, and then put it on the computer and print copies. Some of the things I made note of at that time, I thought prices in Canada were outrageous. In Fairbanks, eggs $1.59,bacon, $1.99 lb,milk $1.17 quart, bread 2/100.We should be so lucky now days to find groceries that cheap. I had commented, I need to do laundry and the washers were $1.25 a load, so we just kept on going down the road. I think it was in Fairbanks I first saw returnable 2 liter drink bottles.
So, I spent my Saturday reading and remembering. Wasn't a bad way to spend the day!

Happy Independence Day!
Hope everyone has a Happy and Safe fourth of July.
I made a trip to Cleburne to the Wal Mart this morning. I have been sick for a few days, and finally felt well enough to go get my meds. I really dreaded the trip, but it was not bad at all. I was able to get a parking place right in front! Thank goodness. The store was not as crowded as I thought it would be. I guess every one is at the area lakes having a bar-b-que. I bought some de-flappers for my awning, now have to go to the storage bldg. and get my ladder. I don't feel safe using my step ladder I keep in the truck. My tail gate is stuck and will not open. No matter what I do, it will not open. So, I have to have that fixed before I can even move! While backing out of my daughters drive I ripped off both mud flaps. In Texas if you have duallys you must have mud flaps! So, another thing to deal with. I just had those put on not a month ago. I figured they were too long, just forgot about it when I started backing out of her drive over the curb. It's wonderful to be a full time RV'r again.

Still Unpacking!
I am still unpacking! I can't believe I am so slow. It takes so much time to go through boxes and sort out what to keep and what to discard. I am really upset at my movers. I didn't go back to my storage bldg. for awhile, I went to look for my awning de-flappers. They have stacked furniture on top of furniture, turning my cedar chest upside down. All I could do was just sit and almost cry. I feel like calling the BBB to let them know what a dumb bunch of movers this company is. They did work fast and until I went inside the bldg. I was happy with their service. It will cost me more dollars to have someone move furniture again for me, so in the long run I didn't get a "bargain".
I am still having trouble getting on Blogger. I have to to my programs to access it.
